1. Responsibilities
- Create animation layout & characters/objects/creatures’ animations for game cutscenes/ trailer with high quality in animation
- Working with plugins & studio scripts to quickly create control Rig as well as creating custom control Rig if needed.
- Supervising animation team and collaborating with other teams such as modellers, VFX & Engine, AD, etc. to achieve the best animation outcome in terms of both artistic & technical to achieve project goals.
Work with 3D head to offer technical consultation aiding production planning for best optimal efficiency & quality outcome.
- Setting priorities and goals for the team, communicating them to the members in the team
Guide, mentor and train studio animators to increase their skill
- Support 3D Head to Evaluate performance of the animation team individually
Analyzing the problem and proposing the solutions or approaches for the Animation department in daily production.
- Animation R&D : Propose the improvement or approaches to improve animation workflows, research new software, new techniques in animations and training team members accordingly
2. Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in 3D animation
Mastery of Animation workflow in various style ( stylize, realistic, abstract etc ) as well as Maya Animation system ( custom Rig, Human IK, Animation Layer, Trax manager, key-frame animation etc )
- Ability to define and execute creative and stylish animations (characters, vehicles, objects)
- Excellent skill in camera-animation and staging principles
- Strong understanding of rigging, including technical processes, function and requirements;
- Strong organizational skills
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Bonus for broad knowledge of the visual arts (animated films, games, character design, industrial/automobile design, comics, photography, etc.)
- Good analytical skills and judgement related to problem solving
- Bonus:
Experience with Tortoise SVN;
Experience with HIK mocap, Biped and Custom rigs a plus;
A solid background in academic drawing, sketching and/or illustration is an asset;
A motivation and passion for video games and 3D animation
